Well I thought it was about time I wrote on this poor, neglected blog. Thing is that I’ve been busy on a couple of projects and everytime I come up for air, another month has gone by and now we’re in June and soon the nights will be falling in and before you know it, it’s time for trick or treating and bonfire night!
The big project has been writing a book, which I’ve mentioned a couple of times in previous blogs. And now it’s nearly ready and should be published online in July. But I do need a bit of help with it, hence the reason for today’s blog.
The book is about VAT and property conversions, with particular reference to residential conversions. It’s a bit different to normal VAT text books because it isn’t a text book. By which I mean that it isn’t written for an audience of VAT consultants and accountants; rather the main audience is property developers and their accountants. So it’s written in everyday English, with references to the important technical stuff when necessary, but with the emphasis on the practical aspects of the rules and their implications for property developers.
As I’m working on the final draft, it occurred to me that I’d like some more input from property developers and their accountants. I’d like to include some questions from developers so that I can do a Q&A section in the book, with the emphasis being on the practical side of things and how the VAT rules apply in those situations.
I’ll be setting up a new page here on the website about the book in the next few days, with more information and a section for questions, but please feel free to email me directly marie@vatexchange.co.uk if you have any suggestions in the meantime.
Otherwise, I hope you’re having a busy and productive summer and made teh most of the lovely weather this past week or so. Let’s hope that’s not the end of the summer weather!
