VAT Information Sheet 07/09 sets out the new “average banding” system for private use of cars by car dealers, manufacturers, car hire companies to bring the VAT rules into line with the direct tax rules from 1 May 2009.

Revenue & Customs Brief 39/09 concerns the application of the zero rate to buildings constructed for relevant charitable or residential use. Extra-statutory concession 3.29 and the 2 related concessions will be withdrawn subject to a 12 month transitional period starting on 1 July 2009.
